Conrad Koh Samui
The Conrad Koh Samui is in the South Western corner of Koh Samui in Baan Taling Ngam and you can see it clearly when you arrive by ferry. The 80 private villas, all with their own 10 meter infinity pool overlooking the Aow Thai beach, were build on a hill and before the green really settled in, it didn't look that great, with all the concrete blocks build on the pristine nature in that part of the island, in my humble opinion.
However, having said that, the Conrad Koh Samui offers the highest standard of comfort and luxury in a very secluded area. If you want to get away from it all and be pampered in the meantime, the Conrad Koh Samui does fill that spot. On the 25 acres of land that spans the property, plenty of on-site recreational activities and water sports are on offer to keep you busy and entertained, including a 24 hour fitness center and outdoor yoga.
If you can afford their rates, it most likely will be a very pleasant stay, away from all the hustle and bustle anywhere else on the island.

The Sarann Resort, Chaweng Noi
The Sarann Resort, Chaweng Noi
The Sarann Resort, Chaweng Noi boasts 48 guest rooms along a nice stretch of beach at Chaweng Noi and has great views over the ocean and Chaweng beach.
The Pool Villas are very nicely located away from the road, keep in mind that other rooms are located near or next to the road. The resort is rather long stretched along the road towards Lamai.
The resort is fairly isolated, unless you have wheels or take a taxi at the resort, the hustle and bustle of Chaweng is not within walking distance in case you like to go out for lunch or dinner.
The hotel offers in-house massage service and private dining with a personal chef can be arranged for in the villas.
The staff is very friendly and overall it's a nice location to relax but relatively isolated, which may be appealing to some of you.
A good deal is available for the rooms and your stay can be very relaxing.

The Kala Samui, between Chaweng and Lamai
The Kala Samui, between Chaweng and Lamai
The Kala Samui, between Chaweng and Lamai is located in a romantic spot and breathtaking bay on the road between Chaweng and Lamai. It's relatively isolated which has it's ups and downs.
The treatment is very good though and the rooms and views are great! There's no beach, but with a three minute walk you can relax at a beach, in front of the Kala are rocks!
One of the great features is that breakfast is served between 6.30am and 6pm a la carte (albeit with a fairly limited choice) and all rooms have a sea view and the whole resort is environmentally friendly.
The Kala Samui, between Chaweng and Lamai is great to get away from it all, so don't expect nightlife or shopping or plenty of restaurants within walking distance, this will all be a taxi ride away.
The staff however is very friendly and will try their best to make your stay enjoyable.
Recommended for getaways and a quiet location.

Sala Samui Resort & Spa, Choengmon
Sala Samui Resort & Spa, Choengmon
The Sala Samui Resort & Spa, Choengmon is a fairly new resort located at Choengmon beach, one of our favorite beaches on the island and around the corner of where we live in the northeastern corner of Koh Samui. They openened their doors almost to the date 7 years ago, 8th August 2009, and everything still looks sparkling and well maintained.
With 53 out of 69 total of villas and suites featuring their own private pool, plus there are two big shared swiming pools at the beach. It's a nice getaway in quiet surroundings with still a lot of things to do within hand reach.
Choengmon is not a thrilling and active village but there are plenty of nice restaurants and shops to offer a variety of options in case you want a change of scenery from the resort and it's activities and restaurants and many attractions are nearby, like Big Buddha or Wat Plai Laem. Chaweng with all it's hustle and bustle is also just some 10 to 15 minutes away, at most and Fisherman's Village is not much further away, in the opposite direction.
Sala Samui Resort & Spa, Choengmon caters to families but just as good to people looking for a romantic getaway. The reviews across the board are excellent and currently I would state without much doubt that the Sala Samui is your best choice in the Choengmon area.
With state of the art facilities and great hospitality it's time to dip into some pampering and relaxation time. A highly recommend stay in a 5 start environment for reasobale prices in this price segment.

Portofino Baywater Resort, Choengmon
Portofino Baywater Resort, Choengmon
The Portofino Baywater Resort, Choengmon is the latest addition in Choengmon when it opened it's doors in March 2015 and since we live nearby, we have seen it being build from scratch, over the years.
It seems that a good job has been done and the 99 rooms, villas and suites have come out nicely. There are villas with shared pools and there's also a big main pool. The beach is a three to five minute walk away but there are shuttle services to the airport (some 15 minutes away) and to Chaweng.
Some of the facilities available to guests include a full service restaurant, bar, library, swimming pool, fitness center, spa, children area, meeting room and a lounge area.
A convenient stay with some good deals on offer, well worth checking out in combination with a deal or in high season with standard prices.

Banburee Wellness Resort & Spa, Hua Thanon
Banburee Wellness Resort & Spa, Hua Thanon
The Banburee Wellness Resort & Spa, Hua Thanon is rather different to other hotels and resorts on the island. Here you can focus on integrated medical approaches to provide guests long term well-being, and treat conditions unresponsive to conventional care.
The Banburee Wellness Resort & Spa, Hua Thanon's mission is to nurture the well being of individuals by providing accessible, quality health and continuum care for our guests. we strive to give the best health education to our associates and inspire them to walk wellness - in which they are empowered to take responsibilities for their own health.
This does however not mean hat you can't stay as a normal, healthy guest! You will be more than welcome. The Resort is already a bit older, so don't expect a modern, new building.
This is all being offered in a rather relaxing environment. The resort is located at a very quiet part of the island with not much else around, be prepared.
