Mantra Samui Resort, Maenam
Just visited the Mantra resort yesterday and it is well impressing! Way up on a hill overlooking Maenam and the ocean, this privately owned resort delivers the 5 stars with a hand kiss!
Since the resort is build on a hill, there's no direct beach access but shuttle buses run daily to three beaches and there's a lovely infinity 10 x 24 meter infinity pool, overlooking the ocean.
Each of the 88 rooms comes with a complimentary computer and wifi for your stay, there's a great gym and there's even a pillow and soap menu plus a kid's club.
Two restaurants, The Ubuntu and the Damma Dining serve you as well as the 'Ministry of Coffee' bar and the Gym and Juice bar at the Mantra Fitness Center are at your service.
The resort is fairly far away from anything but rental cars, motorbikes and bicycles are available.
They really try hard and succeed to make your stay well worth it and once you leave you want to come back immediately.

Impiana Resort, Chaweng
The Impiana Resort has been at Chaweng Noi since a few years and is part of the Impiana group, with other resorts in Malaysia and Phuket.
Their 98 rooms have access to a very secluded beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach but still within 15 minutes or so by taxi to downtown Chaweng. You get a bit of both worlds this way, the quiet and secluded beach and the shopping and restaurants are not far away.
They offer a salt and a fresh water pool, although the pools are rather smallish, but this can be made up by the beach and all the usual things you can expect in this kid if hotel, including free wifi in the rooms.
The Impiana offers good quality at mid range prices, close enough for all your convenience needs and still far away enough for a quiet nights sleep!

The Hammock Beach Resort, Maenam
This 3 star hotel is located at the popular Maenam beach and nearby to the Santiburi golf course. The Fisherman's Village isn't too far away either, just a good 3 km for some good restaurants and shopping but Maenam itself has enough restaurants to suit you.
The rooms are a little bit small but the price is right and the location is good for a nice and relaxed beach holiday.

Vana Belle Resort, Chaweng
This is a brand new, high end resort at the beach in Chaweng Noi, or the Southern part of Chaweng beach, as of mid 2013.
Vana Belle means “Beautiful forest” and it shows all over the resort as the foundation of the resort's concept, orientation and design.
As can be expected in this price range, every suite and villa provides total privacy and your very own personal private pool and terrace. The resort is located at Chaweng Noi's beach, which is a nice beach, secluded from the busy hustle and bustle of Chaweng's main beach.
Two restaurants, Kiree and Panalee look after your culinary needs and there's a nice fitness center attached with a personal trainer on standby.
It's all luxury here in a quiet setting, if that's what you'er looking for, near busy Chaweng, this may be a resort to consider.

P10 Samui, Bang Rak
P10 Samui, Bang Rak
This hotel is about 1 year old by now and stands out in the middle of Bang Rak, opposite the Petcherat pier.
It's 18 duplex rooms are very comfy and have a bathroom/shower on each floor. What makes it really special is that you can jump straight from your room into the pool.
The hotel is not located at a beach, but if you cross the rod and walk down the Petcherat pier, you the Bang Rak beach stretching out to your left and right, not the best on Samui but a nice, fairly narrow but quiet beach.
Bang Rak has plenty of restaurants, a few bars, small supermarkets, the Seatran pier with the ferry to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, a market next to the Seatran pier and it's near the airport.
A good location and ideal for a stay before or after the Full Moon party, f it fits in your budget. Pries are medium ranged.

Idyllic Samui, Resort & Villas, Plai Laem
The Idyllic Resort & Villas offers 15 three and four bedrooms villas and each villa comes with a private pool, straight on the beach of Samrong bay. The beach is shared with Six Senses Sila Evason Hideaway and Arayaburi Resort, two very luxurious hotels. Exclusive company indeed.
All the villas are built in Balinese style with a main house and a separate guesthouse(s) and at least 3 bathrooms and there's also a seaview condominium.
Pets are allowed, there's are disabled facilities, babysitting is available, a shuttle service exists and of course there's free Wi-Fi in public areas and throughout the resort. The resort is slightly isolated and without transportation or shuttle there's not many places to go to. This has it's pro's and cons, pending on what you're looking for.
Under Dutch ownership, a stay here will guarantee a quiet and relaxed experience in a secluded bay.
